Nuclear Races, the award winning obstacle race brand, and British Obstacle Sports today announce a long-term partnership.

The partnership will support the progression of British Obstacle Sports towards official national governing body status and look at how grassroots obstacle racing can continue to be developed.

James Parrish, Nuclear Races founder said: “We have been monitoring the development of British Obstacle Sports since it was founded in 2019 with cautious optimism. A well-structured, professionally run national governing body can be beneficial for growing obstacle racing in the UK and we have been very impressed at what an organisation that is entirely volunteer led has been able to achieve. It only goes to show what an incredible community OCR has. We are proud to offer our full support to British Obstacle Sports as part of this new partnership and look forward to helping the federation to achieve its goals.”

All Nuclear Races VIP Pass holders will now have free British Obstacle Sports membership included as part of their package. Nuclear Races will also promote British Obstacle Sports on its social channels and allow participants to become a member during registration.

British Obstacle Sports has been working with Nuclear Races since 2022 licensing all its events and helping Nuclear Wild Forest to host British Obstacle Sports Time Trials. As part of the partnership, we will also assist with the officiating of competitive Nuclear Races events under British Obstacle Sports rules.

President of British Obstacle Sports, James Burton commented: “We’re delighted that Nuclear Races have agreed to partner with British Obstacle Sports. With a deep history in the sport, Nuclear Races has helped to set the standard of what obstacle racing should be in the UK. We are excited to be working with Nuclear to continue to develop grassroots sport and their support will strengthen our case towards full recognition with the UK Sports Councils.”

The 2023 Nuclear Races event calendar consists of the following:
