Yes, but you can also decide to not run in the age group finals if you qualify for the elite 16 or vice versa. This decision must be made before the event and can not be changed at the event itself.
If you decide prior to the event to not run in a particular competition if you qualify for both elite and age group then your position will roll down to the next available athlete.
All qualification heats will be on Saturday, December 7th.
You can specify a preferred time for your first run when registering. The heats will run from 9 a.m. to 7.30 p.m.
Times will be allocated in advance, and priority will be given to those who registered for the event first.
Our competitive categories will start from 10+ through to 60+
Note that the course will be designed for athletes who are 140 centimetres or taller. Note that we may request height information when assigning your start times to allow the course to be suitable for you.
Please contact us if you or a youth athlete is smaller than this to discuss adaptation options.
No, there are no requirements to qualify via other events.
At this stage, we do not plan to have a wheelchair category. However, if this is of interest to you, please contact us for further details.
The majority of the obstacles are being provided by PentathlonGB. It is likely there will be opportunities to train on the course at Bath University in November.
Early bird registration will also give you the opportunity to train on the course on Friday evening (December 6th) at the NEC Birmingham.
During the Saturday qualification heats it will not be possible to practice on the obstacles.
The 100m team relay is an elite team competition. Entry is via team sponsorship. We will shortly be sharing details on how to register your interest in the competition. International and British teams will be able to take part in one competition. All teams will be comprised of two male and two female athletes.
